Prospective students for graduate study

If you are interested in joining Atsuko lab for your graduate study, please contact me via email with the following documents either in Japanese or in English.

1. Cover letter stating what you are/were working on, your major expertise and any past experience in molecular work and/or computational work, when and which degree you are supposed to obtain as a Master degree (if you are a prospective student for PhD), or undergraduate degree (if you are a prospective student for Master), how many years of research experience, expected starting date of your graduate study (either April 2024 or October 2024), your financial plan to support your study and your career aspirations after getting PhD/Master degree.
2. CV including your name, your date of birth, your sex and your contact address, your academic career and past experiences with dates, any language qualification(s) in Japanese and English with score(s), and name and contact addresses of your referees. Any special requirements should also be mentioned.
3. Degree transcripts and Certificates in PDF format
4. Personal statement (stating what you would be most interested in, why you are interested in working in Atsuko lab, how your past experience will contribute to your study at Atsuko lab, and what you expect to learn during your graduate study. Max 1000 words in English excluding references (you can add references after the main text).
5. Two academic references should be sent directly from the referees to Prof. Sato a month before the application deadline for the university exam.

Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed online by Professor Atsuko Sato at least a week before the closing date of application for the university exam. Applicant also needs to pass the University entrance examination process. University exam February-March 2024 (to start on 1 April 2024) or July-September 2024 (to start on 1 October 2024). This is sometime after the interview by Prof Sato, and further information and advice will be supplied following interview.
